Biography

Emmanuelle Roule is a designer, artist and ceramist based in Marseille.
She founded her own studio in Paris in 2007, developing a transversal and multidisciplinary approach between the object, the image and the space. In 2009, she co-created the project La Banque du miel, an artistic approach with an environmental scope that has spread through residencies and exhibitions in France and abroad.
Since 2012, she has been developing a process of experimentation and research around the earth material and building it at the border between design and contemporary creation, with a strong environmental and sustainable dimension.

Since 2019, she initiates Living Heritage an applied research project focused on the earth material and its possibilities; questioning our modalities of production and construction of spaces, furniture, objects in an economic, ecological context disrupted and changing. In particular, she develops associations between clay and biopolymers such as natural beeswax and vegetable fibers.
A project that links the fields of design, architecture, crafts, food, bees, the Massif Central, Marseille, the south of France, Morocco and more broadly the shores of the Mediterranean.
She collaborates with galleries in France, Japan, United States, Belgium and Portugal.
She has exhibited at Mons European Capital of Culture, Paris Design Week, Villa Vassilieff (Paris), Cantini Museum (Marseille), Villa Noailles, Thalie Foundation (Brussels), Baccarat House (Paris), Moly-Sabata Residence, Kiosk Art Center in Mayenne (solo show)...
